Amanda Tryggvason

Howdy! My name is Amanda Tryggvason (Trig-vuh-saun), and I teach Veterinary Medical Applications and Wildlife Management at the AISD Ag Science Center. I was born and raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 2010 (kick 'em!). I was highly involved in agriculture and FFA throughout high school, and later attended Tarleton State University, graduating with a bachelors in Animal Science. After college, I worked in the large- and small-animal veterinary fields for two years before obtaining my teaching certification. I was lucky enough to acquire a position as an Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor in my old school district, traveling between Arlington and Martin High Schools for my first year. I'm so excited to be teaching at the new Ag Science Center, and to give students opportunities to learn in ways they haven't had before! I currently live in Dalworthington Gardens with my husband (Ryan), our 2 dogs (Thor and Pudge), one horse (AJ), and one donkey (Willis). We are also expecting a baby girl due November 2017!
